Week of Jan 9th thru Jan 13th 2017

Objective: Students will discuss the characters and plot of the novel Tumba.

Can Do Statements: (1) I can read and understand a story in Spanish.  (2) I can retell a story in my own words in Spanish. (3) I can use phrases and short simple sentences to provide basic information.  (4) I can begin to combine words and phrases to create original sentences.

Monday: Writing prompt; Duolingo

Tuesday: Finish writing prompt; Read chapter 6 of Tumba; Answer reading comp questions on Google classroom

Wednesday: Illustrate the important actions from Chapter 6

Thursday: Partner work on retelling the story in your own words;

Friday: iPads to create a slideshow of chapter 6

Materials: paper/pencil/crayons/markers/chromebooks; Duolingo site; iPads; Educreations app

Evaluation:

Formative Assessment: Writing sample

Summative Assessment: Blog post with slideshow due next week
