Week of Jan 30th thru Feb 3rd 2017

Objective: Students will be able to communicate in the target language about the story in the novel Tumba.  Students will be able to use vocabulary in context.

Can Do Statements: (1) I can read and understand a story in the target language (2) I can understand and respond to question on plot and characters in the target language (3) I can retell a story in the target language (4) I can reflect and set learning goals

Monday: Record draft of chapter retell on phones; listen to recording and evaluate it for (1) performance (2) what was done well (3) what could have been better; Write reflection and study plan for the week

Tuesday: Discuss reflections; question and answer on how to phrase things from the chapter; partner practice

Wednesday: Partner practice and preparation for speaking assessment tomorrow

Thursday: Speaking assessment over chapter 6 of Tumba

Friday: Assessment reflections/Duolingo

Materials: pencil/paper/book/sketches/phones/chromebooks

Evaluation:  Formative: Draft #1 & #2 of speaking assessment; reflection    Summative: Speaking assessment on Thursday; reflection on Friday
