Lesson Plans Week of Sept 12th thru Sept 16th 2016

Objective: Students will use the target language to narrate a story.  Students will use a few rejoinders to keep a conversation flowing.

Can Do Statements:

-I can understand and repeat facts from a story in Spanish.

-I can use new vocabulary in context.

-I can use rejoinders in Spanish to react to actions in a story.

-I can communicate verbally in Spanish.

Monday: Introduce the story “Necesito un Boleto;” Read through the intro together and establish new vocabulary; Ask questions to check for understanding as part of class discussion; Vocab on Quizlet

Tuesday: Go back over the intro to the story; Complete the story together through question/answer and practice story retells with a partner

Wednesday:  Practice sheet on the verbs from the story; Formative assessment on whiteboards; practice story retell with a partner using the picture prompts; Quizlet or Duolingo

Thursday: Conversation topic prompts–students will go through stations to discuss a topic related to the story–students should practice their rejoinders during the conversation time; Quizlet or Duolingo

Friday: Written Assessment; Duolingo

Thursday:  Individual conferences for feedback on speaking assessment; Listening Practice for Friday Assessment; With time remaining, students will work on Duolingo

Lesson Plans Week of Aug 26th thru Sept 1st 2016

Objective:  Students can comprehend, analyze and discuss a story in the target language.

Monday:  Begin the story “La Chica Quiere Café” using the storyasking method.  Review of interrogative words, estar, and basic vocabulary from Spanish 1; add new vocab while discussing the story

Tuesday:  Add in the middle of the story using the same methods from Monday.  Students will work in groups to illustrate the actions of the story during the discussion

Wednesday: Finish the story and illustrations

Thursday: Read through the completed story as a class; Answer story questions in the target language; Timed writing using picture prompts from the story

Friday:  Embedded reading over the story; Group Activity: Slideshow of picture prompts from the story and groups come up with what they would say about the picture combination in the target language

Lesson Plans: Week of Aug 22nd thru Aug 26th 2016

Objective:  Students will be able to understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed using basic identity vocabulary for colors, numbers, gender, name, and basic activities.

**Note** Spanish I and II will have the same lesson plan for week one so that I can evaluate the writing, speaking, listening and reading skills of all Level 2 students before we move forward with more complex lessons.

Monday:  1st day procedures; Sign up for Remind; Bookmark teacher blog; Get into Google Classroom Class; Soccer video and class discussion on how to be successful in class; Drawing Activity for comprehension

Tuesday:  Class procedures; Questions on the drawing activity from Monday; Continue activity adding details; Square away supplies; exit slip; Syllabus homework

Wednesday:  Class procedures; Another drawing activity for comprehension; color activity with balls; exit slip

Thursday:  Color & number activity with balls; Students do their own drawing activity with a partner; exit slip

Friday:  Syllabus homework due; Review and Reflection on Student Blogs
